Top Tweets: Bryn Forbes Edition

Originally posted November 5, 2017

On Friday night, Bryn Forbes helped sparked the Spurs to a much needed win over the Charlotte Hornets. Forbes dropped a team high 22 points (along with 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal) in 22 minutes on 8-11 shooting (3-5 from deep and 3-4 from the line).  Forbes also led the team with a +19 rating and zero turnovers.

For those who followed Spurs in the 6during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, you will know that I am routing for Forbes and not just because I developed the #SummerofBryn hashtag.  Needless to say, I was excited to see Bryn not only make the team this fall (his contract is not guaranteed until January) but also get some run early in the season.  I even went so far as to call Forbes out as the breakout player to watch for the Spurs on the Raptors Republic gameday previewprior to the Raptors visiting the Spurs on October 23rd.

While Forbes is not perfect (he is undersized, needs to work on his defence and his shot needs to fall consistently at the NBA level), his work ethic is admirable (he bulked up noticeably over the summer), his shot is pure and his smile can light up a room. I am all in on Bryn Forbes and there is still plenty of room on the bandwagon Spurs fans, come join me!
