After a tease on social media yesterday, the Austin unveiled, and subsequently debuted in their game against the Canton Charge, Fiesta Edition uniforms today.
The jerseys adopt the familiar teal, pink orange stripes from the San Antonio Spurs Fiesta Edition jersey, with the stripes moved to the side of the jersey rather than the front. In another reversal, the striping on the shorts moves to the waistband, compared to the side for the parent club. All said, a very clean look that is sure to please Spurs fans!
Perhaps my favourite detail of the uniforms is the "Spur" that is used as the dot of the "i" in Austin. A perfect link between the San Antonio and Austin logos!
In addition to today's game against the Charge, the Austin Spurs while wear their fiesta uniforms again on February 21st and March 3rd.
Spurs fans, who certainly love their fiesta merch, will be happy to see that a hat, hoodie and two t-shrits featuring Austin Spurs fiesta theme will be available at a future date. Those looking to be first in line can sign-up for the Austin Spurs fan club in order to be notified when the pre-orders are available.
For those diehard fans who have some extra cash on hand, the Austin Spurs plan to auction the fiesta uniforms at the end of the season with the next proceeds benefiting Spurs Give.
