Respect - Raptors 905 Named NBA G League Franchise of the Year

Compete with intensity, lead with integrity and inspire play. The NBA G League Franchise of the Year award is given to the franchise that best exemplifies these three core pillars.

While the 905's success on the court, and the players that it has helped to develop speaks for itself, the franchise's work often court, from play development, to community work, to the front office, was instrumental in the 905 receiving the award.

“Just as Raptors 905 develops phenomenal players, like Fred and Pascal and Norman and Chris on the court, they also develop fantastic people off the court. Raptors 905 is an investment in our franchise, but it’s also an investment in basketball in Canada, a way for us to support growth of the game,” Raptors President Masai Ujiri said. “We said when Raptors 905 started that we intended to make this the best franchise in the G League, and we are really proud that we’ve been recognized for that.”

Highlights from the 2019-20 season (wow that seems like a long time ago), include a 11% increasingly in fan attendance, a visit from the Larry O'Brien trophy at the home opener, various theme nights, the Giants of Africa game at the ACC (sorry Scotiabank) that drew over 16,000 fans and over 6 million minutes of game time streamed online.

Congratulations to the Raptors 905 and everyone behind the scenes who grinds everyday to make the franchise the success that it is!
